For the past twenty years, my painting has been informed by travel. Several of these trips were pilgrimages to learn more about various world religions and cultures. Recently, my interest has turned toward home—roots and landscape and memories. My process has turned toward abstraction. Using only colour and markmaking, I am investigating memories of my childhood, and developing a personal vocabulary and iconography to depict those remembrances.
